Just Around the Li Riverbend

When you are the Giangxi Province of China, you have to see the Li River. It's what the cool kids do. And by cool kids I obviously mean the Chinese tourists.

There are two options for seeing the river:

  1. Cruise Boat with padded seats, tables, and your very own cook.
  2. A rubber boat.
You can guess which one the group of poor college students chose.

But although the boat was kind of sketchy, the weather was bitter cold, and the fog was pretty thick, it all added to the mystical aura of the river. It was definitely the most beautiful part of my trip to China.

Our boat driver lost the boat id in the river. 5 minutes and 3 boats later, he was able to fish it out with his bamboo stick.

In the middle of our journey, we got pretty hungry. So we stopped at the Li River equivalent of a food court. But the food choices were not so great. Everything was deep fried and sketchy. But there was a cute Chinese baby. And Ellery got his picture taken with some birds.

We continued our way down the river, feeling like we were on Pandora from Avatar.

My favorite picture. So mysterious!!
